Friday May 7 saw the Burswood Entertainment Complex Grand Ballroom transformed into a boxing arena. Big-hitting local corporates and personalities, more gorgeous girls than you could imagine, and the who’s-who of Perth all donned black tie for the red carpet event that had free-flowing Mumm Champagne, unbelievable fashion, sexily-clad ring girls in glittering Tarvydas gowns, pyrotechnics, and a world class production.
Twenty courageous boxing debutants, who trained at The Ring for 10 gruelling weeks, made their way into the ring spectacular, creative, Hollywood-style entrances that almost outshone the fights themselves.
Adrian Barich hosted the event, often borrowing the phrase “Are we ready to rumble?” And rumble they did. Barich said after the show, “…the best black tie event in Australia bar none, I’m definitely looking forward to hosting again in 2011.”
Although there was much victory in the ring, the real winners on the night were Australia’s sick and disadvantaged children. The event raised over $100,000 for ToyBox International.
