Miss Universe WA finalist Meagan Pillinger held a moonlight movie event to raise funds for ToyBox. Hear all about how it went!
“On Sunday 23rd January I held a fundraising event in support of ToyBox International. I think ToyBox is an amazing cause to support as it is a local charity, as well as a charity that supports a range of underprivileged children in a variety of different ways. I mulled over many different fundraising ideas including a Christmas cake drive and walkathon, however a movie night seemed to be the most enjoyable and efficient way of raising funds.
“There was a great turnout with lots of couples and families packing their picnic set to come and support the amazing cause. The Academy Award winning movie The Social Network was especially spectacular viewed in the beautiful gardens of the Burswood Outdoor Cinema. Luckily mother nature was kind and the rain held off until the end of the screening.
“I had wine and glasses kindly donated by Miles From Nowhere and cheese and biscuits donated by Louise Nesbitt. Raffle prizes were also donated, and included a
$200 Malt Supper Club voucher, $150 Must Wine Bar voucher and a $200 cooking class voucher kindly donated by Gourmet Godfather. This choice of prizes was a personal one as I am passionate about food and cooking! The generosity of these companies allowed for a very enjoyable and relaxing Sunday evening under the stars.”
